Kinesiology

The focus is on the fundamentals of the structure and function of the musculoskeletal system as it relates to movement, posture, health and massage. Basic anatomy is integrated and applied to postural and palpatory assessment, movement analysis and range of motion assessment.
   

Anatomy and Physiology

This course is designed to give the students a comprehensive overview of the basic structure and function of the body's major systems as it applies to massage therapy.
   

Pathology

Students will learn general terminology and classification of pathology, disease injury and related conditions. They will also learn the body systems function and dysfunction as it relates to health and disease along with indications and contraindications for commonly occurring pathologies for massage.
   

Massage Theory and Practice

5730242026This extensive course covers several techniques of massage therapy including Swedish, Deep Tissue, Shiatsu, Craniosacral, Pregnancy, Sports, Trigger Point Therapy, Reiki, Manual Lymph Drainage along with treatment of injury and chronic disorders. Upon completion of this course, the students will have the skills to give an effective massage appropriate to the needs of each individual client.
   

Business

Through lecture, guest speakers, handouts, student interaction and projects; this course is designed to assist the student in developing a successful massage practice. They will learn ethics and professionalism, professional boundaries, effective communication skills, client management, record keeping, marketing, resumes and interview skills. They will also learn billing procedures along with basic accounting.
